Вночі 22 грудня 2018 року по вулиці Калинівській у Чернівцях сталася ДТП з летальними наслідками. Виїхавши за вказаною адресою та опитавши очевидців пригоди, слідчо-оперативна група поліції з’ясувала, що автомобіль BMW на іноземній реєстрації виїхав з прилеглої вулиці на смугу з одностороннім напрямком руху.
Наражаючи на небезпеку себе й оточуючих, водій іномарки поїхав проти руху транспортних засобів.
Зі слів очевидців, легковик декілька разів змінював траєкторію і напрямок пересування. Порушуючи Правила дорожнього руху, кермувальник неодноразово створював аварійну ситуацію.
Не враховуючи погодні умови та стан дорожнього полотна, водій перевищив безпечну швидкість. Зрештою, чоловік не впорався з керуванням, автомобіль переїхав через тротуар і зіткнувся з вантажівкою ГАЗ-66, що стояла на обічі дороги.
В результаті автопригоди 32-річний водій легковика отримав несумісні з життям травми та помер на місці пригоди. Його 35-річну дружину, котра теж знаходилася в салоні авто, з тілесними ушкодженнями медики госпіталізували до Чернівецької лікарні швидкої медичної допомоги.
За фактом аварії слідчі обласного управління Нацполіції розпочали кримінальне провадження, передбачене частиною 2 статті 286 (Порушення правил безпеки дорожнього руху або експлуатації транспорту особами, які керують транспортними засобами) Кримінального кодексу України. Для встановлення всіх обставин і причин ДТП призначено низку експертиз.
