Проводити служіння онлайн, збільшити кількість сесій благословення та зменшити їх тривалість – такі рекомендації Кабінет міністрів України надав представникам духовенства щодо святкування Великодня. Зокрема, під час служби просять зафіксувати вхідні двері на територію та у приміщення храмів у відкритому стані, а також утриматися від обрядів, що передбачають фізичний контакт (наприклад, поцілунки святинь).
Також прихожанам варто перебувати у масках, як у приміщенні, так і на території храмів. На вулиці слід дотримуватися дистанції не менше 1,5 метрів. Всередині церкви передбачено розташування не більше 1 особи на 4 квадратні метри площі будівлі.
Окрім цього, рекомендують відвідувати обряд благословення та освячення їжі лише одній особі з родини. Людям похилого віку та тим, хто має хронічні захворювання, радять залишатися вдома.
Великдень за юліанським календарем в 2021 році святкували онлайн в багатьох європейських країнах, в тому числі традиційно католицькій Італії, де великодні урочистості за участі Папи Римського Франциска вже другий рік поспіль відбулися без вірян на площі Святого Петра у Ватикані.
Типові обмеження в країнах, що все ж дозволили святкування Великодня стосувалися в першу чергу обмеження кількості осіб (на рівні 25-50%) та обов’язкового носіння масок під час урочистостей.
У 2020 році Великодні святкування стали ймовірною причиною окремих локальних спалахів на території Тернопільської, Івано-Франківської та Чернівецької областей, незважаючи на суворі обмеження на загальнонаціональному рівні.
