Українки Ярослава Магучіх та Ірина Геращенко здобули золото та срібло на чемпіонаті Європи з легкої атлетики в закритих приміщеннях. Наші спортсменки продемонстрували найкращі результати у стрибках у висоту.
Про це повідомила Федерація легкої атлетики України.
Так, чемпіонкою стала Магучіх із результатом у рівно 2 метри. Другий результат у Геращенко — 1,98 метра. Ще одна українка — Юлія Левченко — посіла четверту позицію з результатом у 1,94 метра, поступившись третім місцем фінці Еллі Юннілі (1,96 метра).
Таким чином Магучіх виграла першу золоту медаль з жіночих стрибків у висоту на чемпіонатах Європи в приміщенні за всю історію незалежної України.
Також наша спортсменка стала наймолодшою чемпіонкою зимових континентальних першостей зі стрибків у висоту серед жінок, здобувши золото у віці 19 років 169 днів.
До цього лише на чотирьох чемпіонатах Європи в приміщенні представниці однієї країни завойовували одночасно золото та срібло у стрибках у висоту.
