На Хотинщину завітали учасники міжнародної естафети «Всесвітній біг миру заради гармонії». Фізкультурно-оздоровчий захід в Україні розпочався 30 травня, на території Кельменецького району в пункті пропуску «Росошани», де учасники естафети перетнули українсько-молдовський кордон. На межі Кельменецького та Хотинського районів їх радо зустрічали представники Хотинського району хлібом-сіллю. Голова райдержадміністрації Петро Допіряк привітав гостей на Хотинській землі та подякував за гарну справу.
Спортсмени району прийняли палаючий факел й добігли із ним до райцентру. Опісля передали естафету спортсменам Хмельницької області. Всесвітній біг миру заради гармонії – це міжнародна естафета, яка проводиться з метою поширення ідеалів толерантності, дружби і гармонійного співіснування народів у світі.
27 лютого бігуни європейської команди стартували в Софії, що в Болгарії. Європейська частина естафети буде охоплювати 42 країни Європи, серед них і Україну, довжина маршруту становить 24 000 км та фінішуватиме у Лісабоні (Португалія).
В Україні естафета пройде територіями Чернівецької, Хмельницької, Тернопільської, Івано-Франківської, Львівської і Закарпатської областей, фінішуватиме 3 червня на кордоні із Словаччиною.
