Старший дільничний офіцер Новоселицького відділення поліції обслуговує територію, що межує одразу з двома країнами: Молдовою та Румунією. Історично склалося, що більшість місцевого населення є румуномовним. А тому до дільничного офіцера поліції тут особливі вимоги.
Як розповів Віталій Бодян, професія правоохоронця у нього завжди асоціювалася з мужністю, відвагою, справедливістю та допомогою тим, хто її потребує. Будучи уродженцем Новоселицького району, Віталій пішов працювати дільничним, щоб дбати про безпеку своїх земляків.
«Мені подобається працювати з людьми, допомагати їм, бути у постійному русі і щодня дізнаватися щось нове», – ділиться поліцейський. – «На прикордонній території робота дільничного офіцера поліції має свої особливості, свою специфіку і досить часто доводиться виконувати нехарактерні для правоохоронця функції».
Знання румунської мови, якою спілкується 80% місцевих жителів, щодня стає дільничному в пригоді. До поліцейського люди звертаються не лише за фаховою допомогою, але й з проханнями перекласти і роз’яснити ті чи інші документи органів місцевого самоврядування.
Спільно з прикордонниками Віталій Бодян патрулює територію, щоб не допустити незаконного переміщення через державний кордон підакцизних товарів і нелегальних мігрантів. Тут теж поліцейському інколи доводиться виконувати роль перекладача.
«Роботу дільничного офіцера поліції на території проживання національних меншин важко уявити без знання їхньої мови», – наголошує Віталій Бодян. – «Щоб бути максимально близьким до людей, треба їх розуміти. Треба бути одним із них!»
