Всесвітня організація охорони здоров’я (ВООЗ) повідомила про рекордне зростання числа випадків коронавірусної інфекції за минулий тиждень – майже 2 млн хворих на COVID-19, що на 6% більше, ніж тижнем раніше.
Про це повідомляє Укрінформ з посиланням на звіт ВООЗ.
«У період з 14 по 20 вересня зареєстровано майже 2 мільйони нових випадків захворювання на COVID-19, що на 6% більше у порівнянні з попереднім тижнем та є найбільшою кількістю зареєстрованих випадків за один тиждень з початку епідемії», – йдеться у публікації.
Водночас зазначається, що кількість нових летальних випадків скорочується. Минулого тижня від ускладнень, спричинених коронавірусом, померли 36 764 людини, що на 10% менше, ніж за попередні сім днів.
У ВООЗ повідомляють, що приріст нових випадків зараження спостерігався майже у всіх регіонах світу, крім Африки. Зокрема в Європі і Америці кількість хворих на COVID-19 збільшилася на 11% і 10% відповідно. На Америку, як і раніше, припадає половина всіх зареєстрованих випадків зараження та смертей. У США і Бразилії, найбільш постраждалих від пандемії країнах, за останній тиждень померли понад 5 тис. пацієнтів з COVID-19.
У європейському регіоні кількість заражень та летальних випадків за тиждень зросла на 11% і 27% відповідно.
За даними сайту Worldometer, станом на 16:59 22 вересня у світі загалом зафіксовано 31 536 890 випадків коронавірусу, з них – 970 340 осіб померли, 23 152 800 – одужали.
