Василь Пилипович розповідає, що вперше побачив любов всього свого життя в селі Рівне на Закарпатті, звідки він сам родом. Коли він прийшов на танці в місцевий клуб, то в якийсь момент не зміг відвести очей від прекрасної Галини Танасіївни, однак довгий час вони не зустрічалися, і лише потім Василь наважився попросити руки своєї коханої у її батьків.
Ті дали своє благословення, і 8-го липня 1950 року щаслива пара одружилася в місцевому клубі. Галина Танасеевна і Василь Пилипович розповідають, що за всю довге спільне життя вони ні разу не сварилися – “Хтось здивується, не повірить. Однак це правда. Адже слово за слово і може вийти велика сварка. А навіщо вона? Ми ж не для цього сходилися, чи не так? Ми завжди довіряли один одному, ходили на весілля, хрестини… Ніколи не ревнували один одного. Нас поважали люди, а ми – людей. Домашню і всю роботу по господарству не ділили”. – каже Василь Величко.
