Верховна Рада України 13 травня проголосувала у другому читанні так званий банківський закон, необхідний для продовження співпраці з Міжнародним валютним фондом.
За відповідний закон проголосували 270 народних депутатів.
Законом передбачається зміна процедури націоналізації банків та виведення їх з ринку. Зокрема, забороняється скасовувати рішення Нацбанку про неплатоспроможність банку через суд.
Щодо націоналізованих банків, то законом остаточно забороняється скасовувати рішення про націоналізацію, водночас колишнім власникам банку дозволяють вимагати компенсацію, якщо рішення НБУ визнають незаконним.
27 квітня профільний комітет Верховної Ради рекомендував ухвалити банківський закон у другому читанні.
