Утримання від споживання тваринної їжі під час посту – не є метою, головним є перемога над залежністю від гріхів. Про це повідомляє пресслужба Православної Церкви України.
Повідомляється, що цьогорічний піст до Великодня починається сьогодні, 2 березня, та триватиме до 18 квітня. Під час Великого посту, або Чотиридесятниці, за встановленою церковною практикою, утримуються від їжі тваринного походження, розваг та нестриманості.
“Звернімо увагу на те, з якими намірами ми розпочинаємо святу Чотиридесятницю. Утримання в їжі в період посту потрібні, однак самі по собі вони не є метою. Тілесний піст є засобом, за допомогою якого ми вдосконалюємо свою душу та поборюємо залежність від гріха. Піст – це період розквіту духовної складової людини над вимогами тіла, тож не може бути зведеним лише до обмежень у їжі. Святитель Іоан Золотоустий так говорить про справжню сутність посту: “Хто обмежує піст лише утриманням від їжі, той вельми безчестить його. Не тільки вуста повинні поститися, – ні, нехай постять і око, і слух, і руки, і все наше тіло”, – йдеться у повідомленні.
Також зазначається, що під час посту християни більше часу присвячують молитвам та богослужінням.
“Варто зазначити, що обмеження в їжі залежать від стану кожної людини. Дехто потребує вживання риби та олії (крім середи і п’ятниці). Також з благословіння священника піст може послаблюватись, зважаючи на захворювання, похилий чи малий вік, важку фізичну працю та вагітність”, – додали у пресслужбі.
