14 грудня о 01 год. 04 хв. до Служби порятунку надійшло повідомлення про пожежу в м. Чернівці. Телефонували мешканці п’ятиповерхового житлового будинку, що по вул. Івасюка обласного центру, й розповіли, що відчувають запах диму, який йде з загального коридору будинку на 3 поверсі.
На ліквідацію пожежі було направлено групу пожежогасіння Аварійно-рятувального загону спеціального призначення Управління ДСНС України у Чернівецькій області. На момент прибуття пожежно-рятувального підрозділу до місця події вогонь охопив двері на сходовому майданчику та речі, які зберігалися у загальному коридорі. Про це повідомляє пресслужба УДСНС Чернівецькій області.
У приміщенні утворилося сильне задимлення, дим з третього поверху піднімався на вищі. Працюючи в апаратах захисту органів дихання та зору, вогнеборці, проводячи розвідку у приміщенні, піднімалися з поверху на поверх. Між четвертим та п’ятим працівники Служби порятунку натрапили на чоловіка, 1990 р. н., який, ймовірно, надихавшись продуктами горіння, втратив свідомість.
Рятувальники підняли громадянина, вивели на вулицю, надали домедичну допомогу та передали лікарям швидкої медичної допомоги. Загалом із задимленого приміщення було евакуйовано 20 осіб, з них 3 дитини. О 01 год. 15 хв. на площі 2 кв. м. пожежу було ліквідовано. Під час пожежі вогонь знищив дерев`яні двері та речі домашнього вжитку. Причина пожежі встановлюється.
