Пожежа, котра трапилася 11 жовтня у селі Бабине Вижницького району, мала трагічні наслідки. Повідомлення про неї рятувальники отримали близько 7 години ранку від сусідів. Люди зателефонували на лінію 101 і розповіли, що з будинку, де сам проживав 51-річний чоловік, йде густий дим. На виклик за вказаною адресою прибули вогнеборці з міст Вашківці та Вижниця. Ймовірно, пожежа виникла ще на світанку, однак місцеві жителі помітили її запізно. На час приїзду рятувальників одна із кімнат в будинку була повністю охоплена вогнем, полум’я поширювалося далі. Площа пожежі склала 30 кв. м. Під час проведення розвідки у кімнаті вони виявили тіло власника. Чоловік вже не подавав жодних ознак життя. Загиблого направили на судово-медичну експертизу міста Чернівці для встановлення причини смерті. За попередніми висновками фахівців, до пожежі із трагічними наслідками призвела необережність господаря будинку під час паління. Про це повідомила пресслужба Управління ДСНС у Чернівецькій області.
Внаслідок пожежі, яка сталася 13 жовтня на хуторі Бочків Путильського району, травмувався чоловік, 1957 року народження. Загорання виникло в господарській будівлі. Власник домогосподарства помітив його і, не викликаючи вогнеборців, розпочав самостійно гасити полум’я. Під час пожежі власник домогосподарства отримав опіки дихальних шляхів. Пожежа самоліквідувалась. Чоловік сам звернувся по допомогу лікарів, з опіками його госпіталізовали до Путильської ЦРЛ. Попередньою причиною цієї пожежі є коротке замикання електромережі. Пожежно-рятувальні підрозділи на місце пожежі не викликались.
Інші пожежі 11-15 жовтня рятувальники ліквідували у Кіцманському, Заставнівському, Сторожинецькому, Герцаївському, Кельменецькому, Сокирянському районах і місті Чернівці.
