Святкування Дня міста розпочалось біля Ратуші о 12 годині.
Після традиційного виходу сурмача на ратушну вежу і виконання «Марічки» чернівчан та гостей міста привітав Чернівецький міський голова Олексій Каспрук.
Традиційно під час святкування привітали нових Почесних громадян міста. Ними стали художник Олег Любківський і музикант Лев Фельдман.

Також муніципальні премії імені Антона Кохановського в різних номінаціях отримали біолог Ілля Чорней, історик Марія Дячук, журналіст Максим Козменко, скульптор Анатолій Піонтковський, коваль Андрій Хорт, меценат Олег Козак, підприємець Петро Фурчак, студентська організація «Обнова-фест».
Премію Юрія Федьковича вручили десятьом освітянам Чернівців : Олександрі Кожуленко, Ларисі Колесник, Світлані Мелещук , Ірині Монич, Олександру Павлюку, Ніні Паламар, Наталії Пашковській, Олегу Стратійчуку, Вірі Тодорюк, Марині Федюк.
Традиційно вітали щасливих батьків, родини Байдаліних та Павел із народженням малюків, які поповнили чернівецьку громаду на День міста. Вони отримали візочки від міського голови Олексія Каспрука.
Впродовж двох днів на чернівчан і гостей міста очікує різноманітна насичена подіями програма.
