Компанія Facebook зупинила роботу десятків тисяч додатків в рамках розслідування після скандалу з Cambridge Analytica.
Кількість заблокованих додатків дорівнює близько 69 тисяч, але у переважній більшості випадків призупинення їхнього сталося не після серйозного розслідування, а через те, що розробники додатків не відповіли на інформаційні запити. Про це повідомляє Associated Press.
Facebook розпочала пошук програм, які мають доступ до даних своїх користувачів, ще від березня 2018 року. У компанії зазначили, що заборонили низку додатків повністю і подали позови проти деяких, в тому проти південнокорейської компанії з аналізу даних під назвою Rankwave. У квітні вона подала до суду на LionMobi, що базується в Гонконзі, та JediMobi, що базується в Сінгапурі. Програми вказаних компаній заражали телефони користувачів соцмережі шкідливим програмним забезпеченням.
Як зазначається, у 2014 році, ймовірно, кожен четвертий додаток міг отримувати доступ до даних користувачів Facebook без їх відома чи згоди.
