Якщо суд задовольнить касацію, Олексій Пукач може вийти на свободу.
Засуджений наполягає на тому, що йому не мали права давати довічний термін.
Убивця журналіста Георгія Гонгадзе колишній генерал-лейтенант міліції Олексій Пукач подав касацію з вимогою скоротити йому термін ув’язнення з довічного до 15 років. Про це повідомляє Kyiv Post.
Зазначається, що засуджений змінив свої свідчення, і тепер він наполягає, що «перевищив повноваження».
«Я можу визнати, що перевищив свої повноваження, і це призвело до смерті Гонгадзе. Я вже відбув повний строк за цей злочин. Вони не мали права дати мені довічне», – заявив він.
Відомо, що у 2018 році Пукачу на прохання адвокатів перерахували термін за законом Савченко. Якщо суд задовольнить касацію, Пукач може вийти на свободу. Засідання у його справі має відбутися 9 жовтня.
Довідка УНІАН. Засновник «Української правди» Георгій Гонгадзе зник 16 вересня 2000 року. У листопаді того ж року в лісі під Таращею Київської області знайшли його тіло з відтятою головою.
У 2009 році в Київській області знайдені останки черепа, які за заявою Генпрокуратури, належать Гонгадзе.
15 березня 2008 року Апеляційний суд Києва визнав винними у вбивстві Гонгадзе трьох екс-співробітників Департаменту зовнішнього спостереження МВС України – Валерія Костенка, Миколу Протасова та Олександра Поповича. Суд позбавив їх волі на строк від 12 до 13 років.
Крім того, у січні 2013 року суд засудив до довічного ув’язнення колишнього начальника Департаменту зовнішнього спостереження МВС Олексія Пукача за вбивство журналіста.
Поховали тіло вбитого журналіста 22 березня 2016 року в Києві. Замовники вбивства досі не встановлені.
