Голова Мін’юсту Клеменс Яблонер погодив екстрадицію українського бізнесмена Дмитра Фірташа до США.
У міністерстві юстиції зазначили, що подальший процес видачі є сферою відповідальності іншої юрисдикції – земельного суду Відня. Про це повідомляє Радіо Свобода.
Австрійський суспільний мовник ORF зазначає, що Фірташ поки залишиться в Австрії, оскільки його адвокати подали клопотання про відновлення судового розгляду справи про екстрадицію. Екстрадиція відкладена, поки суд не ухвалить рішення стосовного цього клопотання.
Наприкінці минулого тижня федеральна суддя Ребекка Палмаєр в американському Чикаго відмовилася скасувати звинувачення в хабарництві проти Фірташа. Про рішення, ухвалене наприкінці минулого тижня і викладене на 39 сторінках, повідомили американські ЗМІ.
В обвинувальному висновку прокурорів містяться звинувачення Фірташа в змові з метою дати хабар в Індії для видобутку титану, що використовується в реактивних двигунах.
Австрійська влада затримала Фірташа в 2014 році. Якщо Австрія ухвалить рішення про його екстрадицію, колишнього союзника українського екс-президента Віктора Януковича можуть видати Сполученим Штатам у липні.
Фірташ заперечує правопорушення. Його захист наполягає, що США не мають юрисдикції щодо злочинів в Індії. Суддя Палмаєр постановила, що ця справа може розглядатися в США, оскільки схема вплинула на чиказьку компанію Boeing.
Компанія Boeing заявила, що розглядала можливість бізнесу з Фірташем, але ніколи не укладала з ним угод. Boeing не звинувачують у порушеннях у зв’язку з цією справою.
